[ buildings economics ] provides an broad view of the job of QS during pre-tender stage of a construction development. Ms.Shirley is in-charge on Theory part, whereas Mr.Soon taught us Calculation part. We were introduced various methods of controlling the cost of buildings at the design stage and also the  relationship between building morphology, design variables and life cycle costing of a building.

In this module, we were graded by the a mid term test and also a group assignment which form a group of 6 people arranged and final exam. In this assignment, we act as a group of consultants to prepare cost plan for our clients. We named the project as [ TWO Residence ].

In this modules, I learnt the importance of teamwork and some leadership skills which i appreciated. I also aware on the important of cost plan towards a construction project. I appreciate the opportunity to do this project, throughout, I have understand what element must be cost in during the development stage and also how to calculate GFA, CFA and NFA. Thanks to both of our lecturer patiently explain the calculations and provide us more examples during lectures in order to help us have clearer understanding on this subject.
