<Measurement II> covers the principles , purpose and functions of Standard Method of Measurement (SMM2) including the descriptions , measurement principles and standard phraseology. In this module, we learnt the measurement of precast concrete piling, staircase structure ,staircase finishes and staircase balustrading; brickwork and finishes of internal and external walls; floor and ceiling finishes; timber floors and stud partitions.

  In this module, we were graded by the mid-term test, group assignment which form a group of 7 people & final exam assigned by our lecturer. For our group assignment, we were appointed as a quantity surveying consultant by Putrajaya Homes Sdn Bhd for a proposed double storey terrace housing development in Precint 14, Putrajaya. We were given construction drawing plan of a cornet lot terrace house and required to prepare the Bills of Quantities (BQ) of both external and internal of wall strcutures, wall finishes, floor finishes (except staircase) & ceiling finishes. All in all, my groupmates and i worked well as a team throughout the project.

REFLECTION 

After attending the lectures and tutorials, I am able to distinguish and illustrate differences in writing up descritions of building works, produce measurement and prepare Bills of Quantities. I find that the description is way more complicated than we learn in Measurement I, but i managed to understand it after enhanced the theory of construction process. Overall, I enjoy learning during this module.
