<Measurement 1> is the most important foundamentals of becoming a future qualified Quantity Surveyor. In this module we learnt the proper method of calculating the measurement of simple excavation , trenches , pits ,foundations , pilecaps , reinforced , concrete frame, roof slabs and floor slabs . This module also covers the principles , purpose and functions of Standard Method of Measurement (SMM2) including the descriptions , measurement principles and standard phraseology. 

  In this module we are required to do 2 assignments , a group assignment which form a group of 7 people and a site report      . The group assignment, we were given construction drawings and required to prepare a complete taking off of pad footing , roof beams , ground beams , column , column stump , stiffeners , ground floor slab and apron slab. 

 After all these assignments , i adopt to a systematic approach to take-off quantities from drawing and able to interpret clauses in SMM2 .
