LECTURER - MS. AZRINA
[ ESTIMATING ] provides an introduction on the principle of estimating and components prices such as material, plant, wastage, profit and labour. This modules cover a few topics on estimating cost for excavations, concrete, formwork, rebar, brickworks, glazing, finishes, painting, carpentry, roofing and plumbing.
In this module, we were graded by the a continuous assessment and also a group assignment which form a group of 10 people arranged by our lecturer and final exam.

The first assessment was formed in a group of 4 to carry out a seminar on the given topic where we had to present the answer to our classmate. While the second assessment, we are require to tutor 2-3 of our classmate on how to do the given calculation question of certain topic.

In this modules, I learnt the importance of teamwork and some leadership skills which i appreciated. I also aware on the effect of different build-up rate components to the rate of materials.
Group assignment
In this assignment, we were formed in a group of 10 to act as a contractor Quantity Surveyor to prepare a tender price for a single storey show house.
My company <BINASONG BHD> aim to won this tender thus my group member and work as a team to obtain as many quotations as possible to make price comparison for estimating for the lowest price. I'm proud that our company work it out to be the lowest bidders called for tender evaluation and present to our client. Last, we won the tender !
